Frequently Asked Questions
ZüriClean collects all types of old wooden furniture and timber from properties across all Zürich Kreise and surrounding communes. We bring our own team and equipment for carry-out and handle all sorting and disposal on your behalf.
Guide prices start from CHF 60 for a single large timber item and from CHF 150 for a small load of approximately one cubic metre. A confirmed written fixed-price quote is provided free of charge after you describe your wood volume and access conditions.
No. The Züri-Sack is for household waste only. Timber, furniture, and garden wood are classified as Sperrgut (bulky waste) or regulated wood waste and cannot be placed in standard household waste bags. Placing large items on the pavement without an official ERZ arrangement is not permitted in Zürich.
A standard wood collection takes 1–3 hours from our arrival to completion, depending on volume and access conditions. A large cellar clearance or garden timber job may take up to half a day. We give you an estimated time window in your written quote.
Treated wood includes any timber that has been painted, varnished, chemically impregnated, or pressure-treated. Under the Swiss Altholzverordnung, treated wood must be sorted from untreated wood and delivered to specific licensed facilities. Mixing treated and untreated wood in a single disposal load creates compliance problems and potential extra costs. ZüriClean sorts all wood on-site, so you do not need to classify anything yourself.
Yes — but only through regulated channels. Railway sleepers and creosote-treated timber are classified as Altholz A4 (hazardous regulated wood) under the Swiss TVA. They cannot go to standard recycling centres. ZüriClean identifies A4 materials on-site and coordinates specialist collection and disposal. Do not attempt to burn this type of wood — it releases toxic compounds.
Untreated (A1) wood goes to authorised recycling or biomass energy recovery facilities. Lightly treated (A2) wood goes to ERZ-approved energy recovery processors. Heavily treated or regulated (A3/A4) wood is delivered to specialist licensed facilities. Garden prunings go to licensed composting or biomass processors. All disposal is documented, and an Entsorgungsnachweis is available on request.
Yes — this is one of ZüriClean's most popular combinations. Our team removes the wood first, then performs the property cleaning in the same session. This is particularly efficient for tenants vacating a flat who need both a clearance and an end-of-tenancy clean before the landlord inspection.
Yes. We provide a written Entsorgungsnachweis (disposal confirmation) on request. This documents that your wood was collected and disposed of in compliance with Swiss environmental regulations — useful for landlord inspections, property sales, or employer reimbursement claims.
Yes. We cover all Kreise 1 through 12 in Zürich City, plus surrounding communes including Winterthur, Schlieren, Dietikon, Dübendorf, Thalwil, Küsnacht, Opfikon, Glattbrugg, and Kloten. Contact us if you are uncertain about your area.
